Caitlin Ciccone PT, DPT
Hi, I am Caitlin. I graduated from the University of Massachusetts Lowell with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology and continued on to receive my Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Montana. Growing up in the White Mountains of northern New Hampshire inherently sparked my interest in the outdoors and allowed me the opportunity to test out alpine skiing at the ripe age of 2. This led to my prior career as a professional skier; competing in the World Cup tour as a member of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team and ESPN X-Games as a Ski Cross athlete.
Living in Jackson Hole during my time as a competitive athlete could not leave me more excited to return with a whole new perspective. During my Physical Therapy education, I completed a clinical rotation at the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Center of Excellence in Park City, UT working with World Cup and Olympic ski and snowboard athletes. The main focus was neurocognitive rehabilitation to address the neuroplasticity (changes in the brain) associated with ACL injuries to minimize subsequent ligamentous injuries. My main interests are in sports physical therapy and orthopedic rehabilitation. I am so excited to share this knowledge with Jackson, WY and continue to learn as research is unveiled.
I also hold a degree from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition as a Holistic Health Counselor. This education has complemented my approach to physical therapy as I recognize that we must ensure mind and body equanimity. Our bodies are smart, but we must have our mind working for us to ensure total health and happiness
Areas of experience and continuing education:
- Neurocognitive training for ACL injury and ACLR
- Return to Sport Rehab and Testing
- Bicycle fitting and Injury prevention
- Total Joint Replacements and Surgical Rehabilitation
- Manual Therapy: Soft Tissue and Joint Mobilizations
- Running and gait analysis
- Complex Regional Pain Syndrome
This is my first year back in Jackson since 2010. You can find me outside the clinic mountain biking, trail running, downhill or backcountry skiing, hiking, and in the near future learning to paraglide.
