Hi, I’m Maria Lofgren. I graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology. I then moved to Sweden and studied at the University of Gothenburg, where I received a Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy.
I began work here in Jackson at St. John’s Medical Center in 2001. I worked in all departments, including inpatient, outpatient, home health, aquatic therapy and wound care. In 2005, I became the Director of Rehabilitation for Teton Physical Therapy, a position I held for two years. In 2007, I joined forces with Francine Bartlett to form Excel Physical Therapy.
I have always had a strong interest in Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy with a special interest in shoulder rehabilitation.
My specialties include:
- ASTYM Certified
- Dry Needling
- Manual Therapy Techniques including joint mobilization and soft tissue mobilization
- Therapeutic exercise
In my spare time, I love being active outdoors; mountain biking, downhill skiing, Nordic skiing, as well as cooking and gardening. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
My personal PT tip: “Be pro-active in your rehab to achieve the best results.”
